Project Summary:

Examines how Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) can be documented by students and assessed through use of an e-Portfolio, and provides professional development to faculty advisors and evaluators to assess college/university-level learning acquired outside traditional academic environments in support of student success and degree completion.

Project Outcome:

This IITG project worked to scale-up with five proof-of-concept sub-projects across SUNY Empire State College and SUNY Potsdam.

Use of e-Portfolio to ensure a meaningful, academically rigorous outcome from internships, including a template based upon standards and goals of experiential learning and a website which connects students with a Long Island Alternative Energy Consortium of seven academic institutions dedicated to strengthening energy education.

Project Outcome:

A 16 minutes video describes project outcomes, and the value of using ePortfolio in engineering education is described with data and outcomes in this presentation.

Project Summary:

Pilot use of VIVO open-source, semantic web based software to provide an e-portfolio service for SUNY students including tracking of scholarly works, publications, research, awards, projects and detailed specialties of interest it serves as a springboard for open access scholarly communication.

Project Outcome:

A pilot website and final report describe the potential for VIVO as an e-Portfolio solution, which was ultimately not adopted.
