Using technology-enhanced interprofessional experiential learning, health professions students will improve healthcare delivery for refugee and underserved populations by increasing their cultural sensitivity and understanding of health care disparities through engagement with refugee and underserved African American communities and learning to communicate with individuals with limited English proficiency using professional interpreters.

Development of a collaborative, train-the-trainer model to empower students and faculty with digital literacy skills as life-long media learners and to share media skills with one another, our community partners, and the public.
Project Outcome:
In addition to project outcomes presentations, the website provides several modules for "how to" edit audio, photos, create a portfolio, and use other multimedia tools for lesson preparation.

Pilot the Tools of Engagement Project’s (TOEP) on-demand professional development model among faculty across SUNY campuses, investigating its effectiveness in expanding their pedagogy as they integrate free online Web 2.0 tools into their courses and research.
Project Outcome:
TOEP has transitioned from a $10,000 IITG award to a fully scaled SUNY Center for Professional Development offering in addition their website. Several publications have resulted, including the 2015 NMC Horizon Report Higher Education Edition.
