Adding Media – YouTube Videos


Adding videos using Insert/Edit Embedded Media tool:

1. Go to Youtube.com and search for the video

2. Copy the url using the Share option

Copy the video URL using the share option in Youtube

 

3. Go back to the editor on Blackboard environment. On the content editor for an Item or Blank Page (under Build Content)

 

4. Click on Insert/Edit Embedded media

Click on Insert/Edit Embedded media button in Blackboard


5. Paste the url into the File/URL

Paste the URL into the File/URL field

 

6. Click Insert. The video will display as a blank yellow box with a red dotted outline. The video will not appear until clicking Submit.

7. Submit. If adding to a Blank Page, turn Edit Mode: Off to view the video and how it will appear to students. For an Item, the video should appear in the Content area where it was added.
