How to do a Peer Assessment in Blackboard
For your online class, you may be asked to complete a peer assessment. Peer assessments are a great way to review your peers’ works and to leave important feedback for them. Peer assessment in Blackboard encourages collaboration and communication about topics in a course.
Here is a guide to completing your peer assessment in Blackboard.
Where to Find Peer Assessment
To locate the peer assessment, navigate to the folder or content area where your instructor lists your required assignments. You may find your assignment in content, course unit or homework folder. Always review your course schedule or syllabus for course design information.
You must complete both parts of the review process: submission and assessment. To complete the assessment first, click ‘view/complete assessment’. Make sure you do this BEFORE the submission time ends.
To upload your document into the submission area, click on the question prompt. Then, browse your computer to attach your document. If your instructor allows, you can copy and paste your text in the submission area as well so both a text and download option appear.
Once you submit, you are ready to evaluate your peers.
Evaluating Peer Assessments
After the submission time has passed, and you have submitted your own paper for review, you will need to click on “View/Complete Assessment” link once again.
You will be required to assess a specific number of papers, all of which will be provided to you automatically.
Click on a name to begin the evaluation. Once you are at the evaluation screen, you will be presented with document that you can open. Here is where you will review the submission and award points for meeting criteria.
After the assessment ends, you will be able to see your feedback. Simply click on the same link to see your document and reviewers comments.
